A suspected armed robber, Isikilu Moses, has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command while carrying out an operation in Joju area in Sango-Ota.

Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement issued on Sunday that the suspect was arrested on Friday, April 8.

Oyeyemi explained that the suspect was arrested following a distress call received at Sango-Ota Divisional Headquarters.
The PPRO explained that armed robbers had invaded Adebeshin Street, off Joju road, and dispossessed members of the community of their belongings.

“Upon the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer, Sango-Ota Division, Superintendent of Police, Saleh Dahiru, quickly moblised his patrol team and moved to the scene.

“On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums took to their heels, but they were hotly chased, and one of the suspects named Isikilu Moses, was apprehended.

“Recovered from the suspect are one locally-made pistol and two mobile phones belonging to their victims,” he said.

Oyeyemi said the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for investigation.

He added that Bankole equally ordered a manhunt for the remaining members of the gang.
