“The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs” –Psalm 114:3-4
The word, ‘code’ connotes different things for different fields of study but it is not within the scope of this discussion to go into the different connotations. For the sake of clarity in this exhortation, I chose the most relevant dictionary definition, which points out that a code is a system of letters, numbers or symbols that gives information about something; the information could be communicated briefly, electronically or secretly.
The secret code is the blood of Jesus. It is so gracious that no matter the vices in your life, they can be blotted out and your life will begin anew if only you believe
When the Israelites were about to leave Egypt, their place of bondage, they killed the Passover lamb and did according to the instructions of God through his prophet Moses. Having done their own part, God did not hesitate to do His. When He passed through the land to smite the enemies of Israel, the blood of the lamb pasted on the proper places was the secret code that communicated the message to the Lord. Therefore, He did not allow the destroying angel to enter the houses of the Israelites (See Exodus 12:13).
This secret code did not stop working after the great deliverance in the land of Egypt. While on their way to the promised land, the reward of obedience continued to pay off because no barrier was able to bar them. The Passover meal, which they had eaten continued to speak. The mountains, hills and rivers saw them and gave way. Those who tried to fight them as they passed through their territories did not succeed because the secret code restrained them. They could only read from the foreheads of the Israelites: “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm” (Psalm 105:14-15).
That was as long as the people of God remained loyal and obedient. But when they became ungrateful and unfaithful, murmuring their way to the promised land, they fell under divine judgement.
In due course, God came down in the form of man through Jesus Christ and gave his blood to be ransom for man and the consequence of his sin. That whoever believes and identifies with the precious, redemptive blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, would have life and have it more abundantly. Yes, the secret code is the blood of Jesus. It is so gracious that no matter the vices in your life, they can be blotted out and your life will begin anew if only you believe.
Rehab the harlot identified with the secret code and was saved with her family (Joshua 2:9-18, Acts 16:31). Zacheaus the sinful tax master indentified with it and got instant pardon and salvation. Have you truly identified with the secret code? The benefits are immense as seen in Exodus 12:13, Psalm 91 and John 6:56. When you have the secret code, the angels see it and run to your help, demons and Satanists see it and run from you. But you must be careful to retain it by:
1. Your unfailing faith, demonstrated by your right utterances and actions as indicated in the word of God.
2. Obedience to every instruction and commandment of God as Israelites did in Exodus 12. Note that if they had stayed outside, though they applied the blood on their door post, their safety would not have been guaranteed. Our obedience is more powerful before God than self-serving sacrifice (1Sam 15:22b)
3. Showing forth the praises of the Lord (1Peter 2:9, Ps 149:6-7).
4. Witnessing Jesus (Matt. 10:32-33).
Beloved, draw the blood line which the devil can never cross around your family, business, office and personal life. Sing it, speak it, live in it by taking the holy communion because God says “when I see the blood….”
This tells us that in this end-time, lukewarmness can be very costly to Christians (Rev 3:16). So make the secret code visible to both heaven and hell, and it will speak better things for you, here and hereafter, in Jesus’ name.
