They want to dislodge me from my acquired land, estate manager cries out

An Estate Manager , Otunba Kamorudeen Lamina, has appealed to the police and other law enforcement agencies in Ogun State to save him from villagers in Sagamu Local Government, who have allegedly labeled him a land grabber after they have collected N30million from him as payment for parcels of land in Ewu One and Alara, respectively.

Lamina, who bought the said parcel of lands from the families owning them, said since he bought it about three years ago, he had not been allowed to erect a single structure on it.

According to him, “I bought the land in 2017 through a close associate, who has been into estate business for years. All the family members, including the heads of the family, sold the lands and they appended their signatures in the receipts given to me as evidence of payment. I paid N30,000, 000 to the families for the lands, but now another set of people, who claimed to be members of the family are now causing problem on the said land.”

He lamented that one bricklayer, Fatai Atanda, who was on his legitimate duty, was attacked few months ago on the said land, where he was almost killed.

The estate manager, who showed our correspocndents the original copies of the receipts and other land documents issued to him after he purchased the lands from the family, said the case was reported at Ogijo Police Station in Ogun State.

He further explained that he had held various peace meetings with both parties in the family to ensure peace reigned on the lands, but his efforts had failed to yield any fruit.

One of the heads of the family from Ewu Ona Village, Mr. Olubamwo Oresanya, told our correspondent, “We cannot deny Otunba Kamorudeen Lamina of Omolamina Global Ventures now because he actually bought the land from us in 2017 and he paid. But some people who were slaves to their forefathers are the one creating problems in the area.”

Another member of the family, Mr. Osho Odunayo, confirmed that Otunba Kamorudeen Lamina paid for the parcel of lands and the family gave him receipts in 2017 on which they appended their signatures.

He further explained that Otunba Kamorudeen Lamina  had not used a single plot of the said lands let alone sell them .

Another source from the village, who did want his name to be mentioned, also accused some people, who he said claimed to be members of the Oodua Peoples Congress, of causing trouble in the area .

He noted that the said people were not members of the family, adding that the family had held various meetings with them for peace to reign, but they had remained adamant.

Lamina, therefore, called on law enforcement agencies and the good people of Ogun State to investigate the matter to unravel the truth.
