Three docked for breaking into hotel room, stealing two phones

Three men have been arraigned by the Lagos State Police Command for breaking into a hotel room, where they allegedly dispossessed a customer of his two mobile phones.

The three accused persons, Oseni Lawal, 20; Segun Oladimeji Moses, 19; and Adam Mohammed, 18, were said to have forcibly entered Fooma Hotel, Adeleye, opposite barracks , Ojo, in the Apapa Magisterial District and broke into the room in which one Nwabumwene Ifeanyi lodged, stealing his two mobile phones.

The prosecutor, Bassey Sunday, who preferred a two-count charge against the accused persons, said that the accused persons “did  conspire together to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 411 of the criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria,
2015.”

The second count charge read that the three accused persons “did break and enter into the hotel room of one Nwabumwene  Ifeanyi at Fooma hotel and made away with one Itels mobile phone valued N25, 000. 00 and one Tecno mobile phone valued N10, 000.00 and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 280 (1) (a) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.S. Okubule, granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N10, 000 each, with one surety with evidence of tax payment.
