President Bola Tinubu will embark on a two-day official visit to Katsina State beginning Friday (today), as part of ongoing national efforts to strengthen security and boost local development.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the president is expected to meet with key stakeholders in the state to assess the security situation firsthand.
Katsina, like several other states in Nigeria’s North West, has faced persistent security challenges in recent years, including banditry and rural violence.
The visit underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to addressing the root causes of insecurity through engagement, infrastructural development, and collaboration with subnational governments.
While in Katsina, the President will inaugurate the new Katsina Agricultural Mechanised Centre, a flagship project aimed at enhancing food production and modernising farming practices in the agrarian state.
He will also commission a 24-kilometre dual carriageway completed under the administration of Governor Dikko Umar Radda.
In a social highlight of the visit, President Tinubu will honour an invitation to attend the wedding ceremony of Governor Radda’s daughter.
The president is expected to return to Abuja upon conclusion of the two-day working visit.
