The administration of President Bola Tinubu has injected over N2.2 trillion into critical infrastructure projects across Nigeria, with 260 palliative road projects already completed, the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, announced on Friday.
The Minister also disclosed that the President is set to commission some of these projects in May 2025 to mark his second anniversary in office.
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, stated this on his verified X handle on Friday.
Addressing journalists at a ministerial press briefing, Umahi hailed Tinubu as the “Roadmaster” and a “Man of Uncommon Courage” for his commitment to infrastructure development.
He highlighted that 440 road infrastructure projects are currently ongoing across the country, all approved under the President’s directive.
“In just two years, President Bola Tinubu’s administration has completed 260 palliative road projects nationwide, costing N208 billion,” Umahi stated.
“Beyond this, 29 major infrastructure projects, totaling over N2 trillion, have been undertaken, demonstrating an unparalleled dedication to revitalizing our national infrastructure,” he added.
The Minister emphasised the transformative impact of these projects on the nation’s economy and connectivity.
“The sheer number of ongoing road infrastructure projects – 440 across the country – is a testament to Mr. President’s vision and his unwavering resolve to connect our communities and boost economic activities,” he stated further.
Umahi also revealed that four significant “Legacy Projects” are currently underway, with Tinubu personally expected to commission some of these landmark achievements as part of his second anniversary celebrations in May 2025.
