President Bola Tinubu has promised the people of Osun State that his administration would attend to Federal Government’s abandoned projects in the state.

This pledge was made by the Personal Assistant to the President on Constituency Affairs, Alhaja Kareem Khadijat Omotayo at a townhall meeting her office organised in partnership with Osun State Government for stakeholders on Monday.

Earlier, various speakers at the programme including labour union leaders, students union, civil society organisations, market women, journalists among others called on President Tinubu to resuscitate abandoned industries and construct neglected roads in the state.

Specifically, the Chairman, Osun NUJ correspondents’ chapel, Shina Abubakar, asked the president to revive abandoned Steel Rolling Mills and Machine Tools in the state among other federal government abandoned projects.

The market women and labour union leaders urged President Tinubu to allow the wish of voters to prevail in Osun during the 2026 governorship election, saying a situation whereby the will of the people is truncated would not be tolerated.

Responding to contributors’ requests, Omotayo assured the people that “Mr President is committed to working tirelessly to address the issues that matter most to you all. Mr President administration is dedicated to transparency, accountability, and responsiveness to your needs.

“We recognise the unique challenges facing Osun State, from infrastructure development to economic empowerment. Mr President’s goal is to create a brighter future for the good people of Osun State, where every citizen has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.”

“To achieve this vision, we will work closely with local stakeholders, community leaders, and civil society organisations,” she added.

In his remarks, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, commended the President for sending his envoy to interact with Osun people, saying, “Our people support the president’s reform efforts. The president has our support in the drive to rebuild the national economy.”
