Umahi compels companies to contribute to completion of projects

The Governor of Ebonyi State David Umahi has directed all quarry companies operating in the state to donate certain quantities and sizes of stones to the state.

The governor in a statement signed by Secretary to the state government Kenneth Ugbala disclosed that the demands are made to ensure completion of some capital intensive and life touching projects of the state government.

According to him ,the donations became necessary sequel to lean resources of the state and his resolve to complete all laudable projects before end of his tenure in 2023.

“His Excellency, the Governor of Ebonyi State Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi, has directed all Quarry Companies operating in the state to donate the following items: ½  inch chippings – Two thousand tonnes and ¾ chippings – Two thousand tonnes .

Other items demanded from the quarry companies by the state government include: “
3/8 chippings – Two thousand tonnes and Stone base – Six thousand tonnes.

“Please note that this donation is per Quarry Site.  However, the Stone Base/Chippings will be used for the construction of the following projects: Airport, Dualization of Abakaliki – Enugu Road, Dualization of Abakaliki – Afikpo Road, Construction of Orizor Road and Construction of Ngbo Road.

“These donations became necessary in view of the lean resources of the state. We plead with all the Quarry Companies to cooperate with this directive”.
