A team of Catholic Church medical experts from the State of Colorado in the United States have commenced a two-week free medical services programme in selected Catholic hospitals in Umuahia Diocese of the church.
The Point gathered that the hospitals include Madonna Catholic Hospital, Umuahia;
St Joseph Hospital, Ikwuano; Mercy Hospital, Arochukwu; and Medical Centre, Itumbuzo.
One of the American doctors, Dr. Jerome Smith, explained that the doctors attended to patients with muscular pains and aches, malaria, arthritis, headache and general assortment of medical conditions.
According to Smith, the health experts did not perform any surgery because the hospital has necessary equipment and capable physicians for any follow-up. “So our thought was to work with the physicians, look at the laboratory, look at what they have as far as equipment is concerned and see how we can assist….
