Secondary school students of Unity Model School, Asaba, Delta State, were reportedly forced to take an exam organized by the West African Examination Council, late in the evening.
The students had also used a torchlight during the examination, as the school was without a source of power supply.
Some Nigerians have expressed outrage at the incident.
According to a video circulating online, the students in the exam hall were recorded by a yet-to-be-identified woman.
In the video, the woman is heard condemning the officials for putting the students through such a harrowing experience.
The woman claimed that the exam was supposed to be held by 2pm, but the officials brought the exam papers by 6pm on the scheduled day of the exam.
Thus, by the time the students sat for the exam, it was already dark and the school provided a solitary torchlight that was stationed in the classroom.
