Ycee joins Sony Music

The profile of talented musician, Oludemilade Martin Alejo aka Ycee, has continued to rise, as he has just signed a deal with Sony Music Entertainment West Africa.
The deal means the Tinny Entertainment’s act would release his first E.P, ‘The First Wave,’ under the umbrella of Sony. Ycee now joins Davido as part of the Sony Music family.
General Manager, Sony Music West Africa, Michael Ugwu, said he was excited to have Ycee on the label.
He noted, “I’m extremely proud to welcome Tinny Entertainment and the amazing Ycee to the Sony Music Entertainment West Africa family. I’ve watched this team grow over the past few years and I am amazed at how they have navigated the industry to reach this stage. Ycee is the future of Hip Hop in Africa and will be in the front and center of SME West Africa’s strategy as we take Africa to the World.”
According to the Chief Executive Officer of Tinny Entertainment, Arokodare Timilehin, everyone had been enthusiastic about the future for both Ycee and Tinny Entertainment.
“This is a stamp of approval on all the hard work we have put in through the years and an indication of even greater things to come” he added.
Ycee, on Instagram, shared, “Great things happening, alongside Tinny Entertainment. I’m so proud to become part of the Sony Music family!!” Last weekend, Ycee, who was nominated in two categories; ‘Best Hip-hop’ and ‘Breakthrough Act’ thrilled the crowd with a charged performance at the MTV Africa Music Awards ,the MAMA’s in Johannseburg.”
