If there’s one industry that has a lot of rivalry, it’s music. Rivalry is what seems to drive the sector with musicians always having running battles with themselves. Classic examples are the late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister versus General Kollington Ayinla; KWAM 1 versus Obesere; KSA versus Ebenezer Obey; D’Banj versus 2face; and Davido versus Wizkid.
All those mentioned above are males. But the females are not left out.
And for four years now, the dominant female musicians have been Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade and Seyi Shay.
Inevitably, their individual success has made them to be wary of each other.
Savage is assumed to be the most successful of the pack, followed by Alade and then Shay. But the difference in their success ratios is so minimal that they have to keep working hard all the time to outdo one another or, at least, maintain their pace.
So, if one releases a video, the other two will follow suit as soon as possible. They also employ other strategies to try to make themselves the dominant one among them.
One such pertinent strategy, and which is employed by most female music artistes worldwide is the sexy strategy, whereby female artistes make their brand appealing by projecting a sexy image by being semi-nude.
And in this sexy strategy aspect, Savage and Shay are neck-to-neck. In their recent videos, they display a lot of flesh and boobs and all that, and their fans are left salivating for more.
However, Alade, who once released some pictures years back of her almost naked body in a bath tub, is not taking that route in her videos and it just may be the reason she doesn’t seem to be talked about that much right now, like Savage and Shay.
