N430bn debt: Amosun has mortgaged Ogun’s future for 65yrs- LP

The Ogun State chapter of the Labour Party has alleged that the Governor Ibikunle Amosun led administration has mortgaged the future of the state as it has exposed it to a debt of N430billion.

The Chairman of the party, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi, who disclosed while addressing delegates from the party drawn from the 20 local government councils and the 37Local Government Development Areas, said that LP is set to hijack power from Amosun, whom he described as “perpetual debtor” during the 2019 election.

He said, “As I speak now Ogun State is indebted, I am saying it on record that the state owes N430billion and will finish paying in 65 years. If I am telling lies, the government should charge me to court. All of us need to come together so that we can salvage our state from robbery and be able to save it from a perpetual debtor.

“The state’s performance has dropped from three to 32 because Amosun stopped the payment of West Africa Examinations for our students.”

Arabambi, who blamed Amosun for demolishing buildings in the state without compensation to the owners, challenged members of his party to brace up and ready to take over the seat of power from the All Progressives Congress come 2019.
