Acute water scarcity in Abaji Science College

I am surprised that despite various representations to the Federal Ministry of Health, nothing has been done concerning the plight of students at the Federal Government Science College, Abaji, Abuja.

The school has over the years suffered so much neglect, creating nightmares for stakeholders who include teachers, students and the parents. As the situation stands now, the college is suffering a lot of infrastructural decays. The classrooms and hostels are in very bad shapes.

Also, poor foods are given to the students daily, which often precipitate various forms of illness.

On daily basis, the sickbay is jam-packed with students complaining of one ailment or the other. Right now, the school is suffering from acute scarcity of water, a situation that has become precarious.

Students now go about for over one week without taking their bath, thus suffering one skin disease or the other, and with its attendant putrefying odour. It is high time the Federal Ministry of Health waded in, as a scenario similar to that of Lagos Queen’s College is already playing out in the Federal Government Science College, Abaji.
