Anjorin bags Best Player Award

England youth international of Nigerian descent Faustino Anjorin was officially named the best player for Huddersfield Town in their 2-2 draw with Semi Ajayi’s West Brom in a Championship clash at John Smith’s Stadium at the weekend.

The Chelsea loanee opened his goalscoring account for the season in the 11th minute when he curled home from the edge of the box after the ball was worked to him from a short corner.

On the half-hour mark, Anjorin won the ball and finished past Baggies goalkeeper David Button – his second goal at the John Smith’s Stadium.

It was the first time in his professional career that he has scored more than once in a competitive match.

West Brom, with Ajayi going the full ninety, earned a share of the spoils after Jed Wallace’s brace canceled out the earlier goals scored by Anjorin.

The Anglo-Nigerian winger was taken off as a precaution in the 59th minute after an excellent individual display in the first half.

In 27 career appearances as a pro, Anjorin has now netted four goals comprising three for Huddersfield Town and one in the colours of Lokomotiv Moscow.
