Buhari joins FEC meeting virtually from Daura

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has joined the Federal Executive Council meeting, holding in the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, from Daura.

He joined the meeting virtually, on Wednesday, as earlier indicated in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, announcing his one-week private visit to his hometown, in Daura, Katsina State.

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is presiding over the FEC meeting, which began at about 10am.

Those in attendance are National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd); Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire; and Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari, among others.

The Permanent Secretary, Ecological Funds Office, Mrs. Habiba Lawal, is however standing in as scribe of the meeting for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, who is in self-isolation.

Ministers in physical attendance at the meeting are Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; and Education, Adamu Adamu; among others.
