CAF Election: Nigeria indebted to Hayatou, says Amun

Former Secretary-General of the Nigeria Football Federation, Fanny Amun, says incubent CAF President, Issa Hayatou, deserves all the support to remain in power, saying that Nigerian football is indebted to the Cameroonian.
Hayatou is going into the battle with Ahmad Ahmad of Madagascar in tomorrow’s CAF elections in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
“Nigeria is indebted to Dr Issa Hayatou and we should show loyalty to the Cameroonian at the CAF Election,” Amun said.
The Nigeria government  insisted that the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, should cast Nigeria’s vote for the 70-year-old Hayatou despite  publicly declaring support for his challenger, Ahmad Ahmad.
Reacting to the latest decision by the Federal Government as conveyed by the Minister of Sport, Amun says Solomon Dalung’s emergency meeting , held a few weeks ago, was convened to placate frayed nerves, but stressed that the government’s stance is the final verdict.
