A deaf couple, Mr. and Mrs. Nwadike Daniel ThankGod, has appealed to all Nigerians for financial assistance for the treatment of their only son, 5-year-old, James ThankGod, currently suffering from a life-threatening heart disease.
The couple, based in Sapele, Delta State, where they run a Non-Governmental Organisation for educating deaf children in the area, said that James would require the sum of N3.118million for an open heart surgery in India.
The said that they were being compelled to seek the financial help of all Nigerians because they could not afford the fee charged them for an open heart surgery to correct the congenital heart disease at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, where he was referred to in February 2017.
They said they then decided to approach the Kanu Heart Foundation for help, saying after the Foundation had subsidized the fee for the surgery, it gave them a bill totaling N3.118million.
The couple said, “We wish to solicit financial assistance from you for the treatment of our only child, Master James ThankGod. Our only son has been diagnosed of congenital heart disease, which was confirmed by an echocardiograph and x-ray done. His doctors have strongly advised he will undergo an open heart surgery to save his life before his deteriorating heart condition gets worse.
“We, James’ parents, are both hard of hearing (deaf). We are seriously appealing for your urgent financial help to enable Kanu Heart Foundation carry out the heart surgery to save our only child’s life. Please, come to our rescue and Almighty God will abundantly remind you.”
