Don’t plunge Nigeria into anarchy, cleric tells herdsmen

The General Overseer of the Bible Believing Church Incorporated, Pastor Innocent Kingsley, has warned the marauding Fulani herdsman not to plunge the country into violent crisis and anarchy.

Kingsley said this in a chat with our correspondent in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He said that the problems of Nigeria were being created by Nigerians.

The cleric urged the Federal Government to stop the ongoing killings allegedly being perpetrated by the herdsmen across the country.

He wondered why it had become very difficult for the Federal Government to stop the herdsmen’s attacks on the people of Benue and other affected states in the country.

Kingsley said, “With what is happening now, Nigerians will feel that these herdsmen are holding the country to ransom. We have to help our people. This nation belongs to all of us.

These herdsmen are not the issue. Why are they not contributing to the development of the country?

“What roles are they playing in the economic growth of the nation and in resolving the numerous challenges that are confronting the nation?

Nobody will tell us that they are no herdsmen. They carry sophisticated weapons; I weep when they tell us that they are not herdsmen.”
