The Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Steve Orogwu, has lost three of his family members and his gateman during an attack by unknown gunmen at his residence.
It was gathered that the hoodlums stormed the chairman’s home in Ekpaomaka late Tuesday night but did not meet him.
They reportedly shot dead three of his relatives and his security guard who was on night duty.
Orogwu, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday, said, “They attacked my family compound at Ikwo last night and killed my elder brother, two of his sons and a security guard.
“Four persons were killed by the hoodlums yesterday in my family compound for no just cause.”
He added that the gunmen set ablaze the family house in the compound and destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
At the time of filing this report, corpses of the victims were deposited in the mortuary in Abakaliki.
It was gathered that investigation had commenced on the matter.
