Fear grips Osun PDP as Supreme Court decides Adeleke’s fate tomorrow

BY TIMOTHY AGBOR, OSOGBO

Anxiety has been mounting within the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State as the Supreme Court will on Thursday decide the fate of the state governor-elect, Senator Adeleke Adeleke’s candidature.

Dotun Babayemi, a former aspirant and now dismissed member of the PDP, Osun chapter is seeking court redress over the authentic candidate between him and Adeleke.

Adeleke, who was recognized authentic candidate by the PDP national working committee won the Osun July 16 governorship election against the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola.

But, Babayemi, who was allegedly elected as the party’s flag bearer at a parallel congress held in Osogbo, had said he was the authentic governorship candidate of Osun PDP in the recently held poll.

Adeleke and PDP had defeated Babayemi at the Federal High Court and Appeal Court.

The Point gathered that the apex court would be delivering judgement on the matter in order to determine who the authentic candidate of Osun PDP is for the July 16 governorship poll.

To this end, fear has reportedly gripped the major opposition party over what the outcome of the judgement might be.
