Gunmen kill 5 traditional rulers in Imo

There was confusion at Nnenasa community, headquarters of Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, on Tuesday, as some yet-to-be identified gunmen reportedly opened fire on some traditional rulers who were holding a meeting.

At least, five of the traditional rulers were reportedly killed in the attack by the rampaging gunmen.

It was gathered that over 20 traditional rulers from the area were having a meeting at the local government headquarters when the gunmen invaded the venue.

They were said to have fired gunshots indiscriminately on arrival at the meeting.

Those who sustained gunshots injuries had been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The Imo State Police Command has yet to issue any statement on the incident.
