Gunmen storm Taraba gov’s hometown, panicky residents run for dear lives

 

Unknown gunmen on Sunday attacked Takum, Taraba State, the hometown of Governor Darius Ishaku.

Our Correspondent gathered that the unknown gunmen stormed the town at about 9am while most of the residents were attending Sunday morning services in their various churches.

A resident of the town told our correspondent that heavy gunshots were heard around Angwan Mbakpa, as residents ran for dear lives.

The Caretaker Chairman of Takum Local Government Area, Hon. Shiban Tikari, could not be reached on the phone.

Calls made to his phone by our correspondent were not picked. Tikari did not also reply to text messages sent to him.

Similarly, the Taraba State Police Public Relations Officer, David Misal, an assistant superintendent of police, did not respond to text messages sent to his phone.
