Man, 30, arraigned in court for stealing motorcycle

Men of the Ijora-Badia Police Station in the Lagos State Police Command have arraigned a 30-year-old man at a Magistrate Court sitting in Apapa for stealing a motorcycle valued at N250, 000.

The Investigating Police Officer, Inspector Omotayo James, who brought the accused person, Jamiu Soliu, to the court said Soliu committed the offence at Enigbokan Street, Ijora- Badia.

The prosecutor, Inspector Edet Ekpo, said that Soliu and others now at large “conspired to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria,
2015.”

It added that the accused person and others now at large, “did steal a Boxer motorcycle valued at N250,000 (two hundred and fifty thousand naira) thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 328 of Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria,
2015.”

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr. N.A. Layeni, granted bail to the accused person in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties.
