Military frees Delta monarch detained over Okuama killings

The traditional ruler of Ewu Kingdom in Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo, Urhukpe 1, has been released from military detention.

The Delta monarch was released on Monday after spending weeks in confinement over the reported killing of military personnel in his kingdom.

The Defence Headquarters declared King Ikolo wanted over the killing of soldiers around Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta.

The monarch subsequently surrounded himself to the Delta State Police Command, who handed him over to the military.

The monarch was released on Monday morning after spending over two weeks in military detention where he was interrogated on his alleged involvement in the killing of the military personnel.
