NEMA confirms recovery of body of Femi Osibona, owner of collapsed building

Rescue workers at the site of the of the collapsed building in Lagos 21 storey building in Ikoyi have confirmed the recovery of the lifeless body of owner of Fourscore Homes, Femi Osibona in the rubble.

An official of the National Emergency Management Agency confirmed the development to reporters on Thursday.

The ministry of health in the presence of security operatives on ground took away his body from the site of the building which collapsed on Monday afternoon.

According to NEMA, it had recovered 38 bodies as at the last count on Thursday afternoon while rescue efforts are still ongoing but there is still no official figure of how many people were in the building at the time of the collapse.

Others still believed to be trapped under the debris are Wale Bob-Oseni, a US-bound real estate dealer and executive director of African Bureau for Legislative Empowerment; Onyinye Enekwe, personal assistant to Osibona who got employed last week; Zainab Sanni, a 25-year-old female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member; and Emmanuel Abel, a 16-year-old boy who had travelled from Abuja to work at the site.
