NNestle unveils workplace for internal communicationestle Nigeria Plc has launched a business connectivity platform, Workplace by Facebook, as its global internal communication tool.

The move was part of the company’s commitment to empowering people, and sustaining a high-performance culture by offering employees a more flexible working environment.

The Executive Vice President, Nestle Plc, Chris Johnson, at the launch, said, “Workplace by Facebook is adopted for the ease of our employees’ communication because Nestle is a people-first environment and we really rely on our talented teams to manage more than 2,000 Nestle brands worldwide.”

He said, “The company initiated the process around nine months ago, and, currently, about 210,000 Nestlé employees use the platform to connect and collaborate to turn good ideas into products. We help our employees develop and we give them the right tools, so Workplace is a
perfect fit.

“The tool offers Facebook features such as news feed, groups, chat, events and live streams, as well as seamless mobile integration, while other features include live video that enables managers to connect directly with employees from different locations.”

Meanwhile, the Vice President of Workplace by Facebook, Julien Codorniou, said, “As the global work landscape continues to change and the demand for better collaboration, best-of-breed IT and mobile-first work increases, we are honoured to partner with a company like Nestle to help employees work together to allow for more
innovation.”

“Workplace has easy-to-use features, ease of access, and the ability to connect everyone has resulted in greater internal engagement and faster responses from employees. In the first phase, the tool was incorporated in Mexico, Brazil, the Middle East, and South Africa, where the company witnessed 25 times higher engagement per post, and a very high rate of use on mobile devices.”
