The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has won the last Saturday’s presidential election in Delta State.

The Delta State Presidential Election Collation Officer (SCOPE), Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill of the University of Port-Harcourt, on Tuesday at the Independent National Electoral Commission headquarters in Asaba, made the declaration.

The Labour Party candidate scored 341,866 votes, while Atiku Abubakar of the PDP garnered 161,600 votes. Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress came third with 90,183 votes.

Going by the result, it will be the first time in history that the PDP will lose a presidential election to another party in the state. It equally means Obi defeated the State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, who is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice presidential candidate, in his state.
