Okomu Oil plc rewards workers, MD gets IIJ award

Okomu Oil Palm Company has splashed over N15Million cash REWARD on over 40 workers for their commitment and dedication to work.

Also, the International Institute of Journalism, Benin Study Centre, has honoured the Managing Director of the company, Dr. Graham Hefer, with an outstanding media recognition award.

The Communication Officer, Okomu Oil Palm, Fidelis Olise, who received the award on behalf of the recipient, appreciated the institute for the recognition.

Presiding over the long service award ceremony for deserving staff, Hefer called on the benefiting workers to look forward to more responsibilities, pointing out that such high demand was inevitable to make the company a success.

The beneficiaries who had spent between 10, 15 and 25 years in the service of the company went home with complete sets of furniture and beddings.

Other items presented to the workers included furniture wardrobes, deep freezers,  plasma television sets as well as unspecified sum presented in cheques.

“The workers have been loyal and dedicated to the company; they have also been the foundation stone of the company. The more people like you we have, the better since they will move the company forward,” Hefer said.
