Stop focusing on nation’s problems, cleric tells Nigerians

former deputy national president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale-Oke, has urged Nigerians not to be discouraged by the current challenges confronting the country.

Wale-Oke said that Nigerians should rather focus on the positive things that God had done and would continue to do for them.

The cleric gave this charge in a chat with our correspondent in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, shortly after an event in which he prayed for couples in the state so as to attract God’s attention towards sustaining and blessing their marriages.

He said there would always be hope for Nigerians to overcome challenges, if they continued to pray and have the belief that God can do all things in their lives.

Wale-Oke charged Nigerians to always continue to trust and hope in God Almighty so as to attract His blessings, favour and protection at all times.

“It is better for Nigerians not to continue to focus on the present challenges of life, but should focus on what God has done for us and what He will continue to do in our lives as individuals,” he said.

The Bishop stated that it is only God that can resolve the problems of the country, if Nigerians should devote more time in prayers by seeking God first in the affairs of the country.

He prayed for the country’s leaders and asked God to lead them aright in carrying out their statutory responsibilities to Nigerians.

The cleric also said in this yuletide season, Nigerians should remember what God had done by keeping them alive from the beginning of the year to December.

Bishop Wale-Oke also explained that there was the need for churches to always pray for couples.

“Nigerians should be grateful to God for protecting their lives from January to December, there are many who started the year, but could not live up to December,” he said.

The cleric further pointed out that during this outgoing year, many had died through accidents, many murdered by evil ones, while many were also poisoned, adding that the living should always appreciate God’s mercy and favour.

“Christmas season is the season to give God thanks for his numerous deeds to mankind. Nigerians should always be their brothers’ keeper,” Wale-Oke said.
