Police arraign man, 20, for burgling house, stealing items worth N289,400

The police in Satelite Town, Lagos, have arraigned a 20- year- old man, Amusere Folorunso, before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly burgling a house and carting away items worth N 289,400. at house No. 9, Owotemi Street, Agboju, in Lagos State.

The prosecutor, Inspector Bassey Sunday, who preferred a three-count charge against the accused persons, told the court that the accused and others now at large did conspire among themselves “to commit felony to wit; stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos
State.

The second count read the   accused persons “did break into the house and steal the following items; (1) two Nokia phones valued N20, 000 (2) One Techno phone valued N25, 000 (3) One Itel phone valued N10, 000 (4) One Solo phone valued  N25, 000 (5) One Samsung phone valued N25,000 (6) One charger and one ear piece valued N2, 500 (7) Twenty five pieces of liquid milk valued N5,000 (8) Seven Titus (sardine) valued N2,000 (9) One geisha valued N2,000 (10) One roll of Golden Morn valued N1000 (11) One roll of Coaster powder valued N500 (12) Four Nescafe valued N400 (13) Two pieces of soap valued N5,000 (14) Physical cash of N180, 000, the total value of the stolen items N289, 400 (Two hundred and eighty nine and four hundred naira), property of one Peter Okoro ‘m’ and (2) Salisu Yau “m’  and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 307 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State,
2015.”

In the last count charge, the prosecutor said the accused person and others at large “did unlawfully be in possession of weed suspected to be Indian hemp and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 330 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State,
2015.”

The accused person, Folorunso, pleaded guilty to all the three count charge against
him.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.S. Okubule, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties.

The court adjourned the matter to November 26, 2018 for further hearing.
