Police arraign teenager for stabbing woman with jack knife

The police in Lagos have arraigned an 18 – year- old man, Ibrahim Ismaila, in court for allegedly using a jack knife to stab a woman identified as Confidence David.

Ismaila stabbed David on her breast, chest and back at a hotel in Lagos.

The accused person, who was brought to the Apapa Magistrates’ Court by the Investigating Police Officer, Sergeant Usang Otu, attached to Tolu Police Station,  was alleged to have attacked the woman, David, at City Point Hotel located in number 83, Kirikiri Road, Olodi – Apapa, Lagos.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Friday, who took the brief of Inspector I. Feddy Asu, told the court that Ismaila conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace with the intent to commit felony and “thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 168 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria,
2015.”

In the second count charge, the prosecutor said that Ismaila “did unlawfully and willfully use a jack knife to stab one Confidence David ‘F’ on the chest, back and left breast side, which caused her bodily harm and endangered her life with intent to kill her and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 230 (1) and punishable under sub-Section (2) of the Criminal Laws of Nigeria,
2015.”

The accused pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T. O Babalola, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N80, 000.00 with two sureties, one of who must be his blood relation.
