AN Inspector of Police has reportedly committed suicide, in Aba, Abia State.
The Inspector, attached to the Osisioma Mobile Police Force Unit (Mopol 55), Ochofie Ijimbile, reportedly shot himself in the chest in the barracks.
Though the reason for this action had not been ascertained, close sources said it might not be unconnected to a debt he could not repay.
It was learnt that his colleagues rushed him to the hospital but he eventually gave up the ghost.
The deceased inspector was said to have been attached to a hotel as a security personnel.
Police Public Relations Officer in Abia State, Geoffrey Ogbonna confirmed the incident, but said the deceased was servicing his rifle when the death occurred.
