Remo Stars restrategise after Ugbade’s departure

  • Set to battle Lobi Stars

Remo Stars Football Club of Sagamu has put behind the lingering crisis in their camp to fight for this weekend’s three points against visiting Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi in a Nigeria Professional Football League tie.

Only recently, Remo management discontinued with the services of their Technical Adviser, Nduka Ugbade, when they could not agree on financial terms. Reports had it that negotiations with the tactician broke down, as both parties couldn’t reach an agreement over a contract renewal.

It would be recalled that Ugbade led the team to gain promotion into the elite league last season. The Ijebu club is however not resting on their oars to tame the Makurdi boys. They have been training very hard to shame their critics, who thought they did not have what it takes to remain at the top flight contest.

Lobi Starts is expected to bank on the weaknesses of their host to contest for the maximum points, but the Remo Boys are still up to the task ahead of them, in spite of Ugbade’s absence. But Remo should be afraid of Lobi’s dare-devil striker, Stephen Odey, who recently netted three goals against the Mountain of Fire and Miracles at Agege Stadium in the club’s 4-0 demolition.

Odey may be looking forward to another historic outing this weekend, as Remo Stars have a lot of work to do to contain a hungry Makurdi side.
