Sales rep in court for stealing company’s N3.8m

A sales representative with PZ Cusson Nigeria Limited, Louis Ibua, has been arraigned at a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State for allegedly stealing N3, 823,168.00 from the company.

Ibua, who was in charge of the company in Ebonyi State, was said to have stolen the money on March 10, 2022 at the company’s head office at number 5, Orlu Street, Abakaliki.

To this end, the company filed a suit marked MAB/202c/2022 against its staff.

The charge read, “That you Louis Ibua, aged 44, on the 10th day of March 2022 at No 5 Orlu Street, Abakaliki in the jurisdiction of this honourable court did steal cash sum of N3, 823,168.00, property of PZ Cusson Nigeria Limited and thereby committed offence punishable under section 390(6) of the criminal code cap 33 volume 1 laws of Ebonyi state of Nigeria, 2009.”

The trial Magistrate Chinedu Mkpuma granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with one adult as surety.

He ordered that the surety must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction and must be a civil servant under the employment of the state government.

The matter was adjourned till July 18, 2022 for hearing.
