A gang of gunmen have reportedly attacked the Vice Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Osun State, Quoseem Ali in Apomu, in Isokan Local Government Area of the state.

Ali, popularly called Kekere Kasuma, was said to have been driving to his hometown in Apomu on Saturday night when some gun wielding men waylaid him and shot him.

It was gathered that the incident happened at about 8:30pm, close to RCM Missionary House in Apomu.

They were said to have picked up Ali’s body from his car, put it in their vehicle and drove off the area after shooting sporadically to scare people away.

Sources disclosed that Ali’s vehicle was abandoned and none of his belongings was taken by the suspected hired assassins.

Efforts to reach out to the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Yemisi Opalola, was not successful as she did not pick her telephone calls and neither did she return message sent to her.
