Wikki Tourists Target League, Cup Double

Nigeria Professional Football League leaders, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, are determined to clinch the League and Federation Cup double this season to appreciate the government and fans’ support in the state.
The Abdu Maikaba boys are in killer mood to rattle any club that stands as a threat to their lofty dream this season.
Still basking in the euphoria of their recent victories, the Wikki boys are ready to demolish any stumbling block on their way to the top.The league leaders were beauty to behold during their last weekend 2-0 victory over Abia Warriors in Bauchi.
“Earlier in the season, we were taking our time with each game and the club have been getting good results, but for Almighty Allah to have taken us this far, to the top of the log with few games to go and in the quarter finals of the federation cup, the believe has come on us to go all out to win the two trophies. I believe we have the team to achieve that target,” club scribe, Tijani Hammed Suleiman said.
Suleiman attributed the club’s impressive run in the ongoing league season to team spirit, dedication and timely government support, adding that winning the two available cups would cap an historical season for the entire members of the club and the state as well.
“We have since formed a strong bond in Wikki Tourists; we complement one another in terms of team work both on and off the pitch. The team spirit, discipline and most especially, government support through our chairman has been tremendous,” he said.
Wikki Tourists have garnered 47 points in 28 games and occupies the top spot on the NPFL table on superior goals.
