A Magistrate’s court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, on Thursday, sentenced a 20-year-old man, Yusuf Mohammed, to six months imprisonment for stealing window frames.
Magistrate Fatimoh Sodamade found Mohammed guilty as charged by the police and  convicted him following the accused’s guilty plea.
Police prosecutor, Mireti Wilson, had informed the court that Mohammed stole the aluminum window frames valued at N50, 000, property of one Olasunkanmi on July 20, 2017.
Wilson noted that the accused, a scavenger, committed the offence at Service area, Ilobu road in Osogbo.
He argued that the offence was contrary to Section 383 (1) and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2002.
Counsel to the accused, Patience Ofoyeju, pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy in sentencing the accused.
Sodamade then sentenced Mohammed to six months jail term
