Katsina Governor’s nephew, two policemen die in Masari’s convoy accident

No fewer than three people have been confirmed dead and several others injured in an accident involving the convoy of Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State.

The convoy crashed along the Jikamshi Bridge in the Musawa Local Government Area of the state where two police officers attached to the convoy: Kabir Adamu and Nura Sufiyanu, lost their lives.

A nephew to the governor was said to have lost his life in the accident that happened on Friday night.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident saying the crash occured when the governor was on his way to Masari, his hometown in Kafur Local Government Area of the state.

Isah said remains of his colleagues have already been taken to a General Hospital mortuary while those injured rushed to the hospital wards.

Governor Masari was heading to his hometown for the governorship and state assembly elections taking place today.
