Manchester City have won a fourth Premier League title in five years after coming back from two goals down to defeat Aston Villa 3-2 on the final day of the season.
Goals from Matty Cash and Philippe Coutinho put Villa ahead but City came back to win the match in the final 15 minutes of the game to send the Etihad wild.
An Ilkay Gundogan header in the 76th minute, a drive by Rodri’s drive two minutes later and a tap in by Gundogan from a De Bruyne pass, completed the comeback in the 81st minute for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Their closest rival, Liverpool defeated Aston Villa 3-2 but still lost the title by just one point.
Coming back from a goal down, Mohamed Salah’s late winner for Liverpool mattered little, though it did ensure that he shared the Golden Boot with Tottenham’s Son Heung-min.
City have finished top of English football eight times while Guardiola has now won four titles since arriving the Etihad six years ago.
City have been in fine form throughout the season, losing just three times and picking up 93 points, their third-highest total, behind only 2017-18 and 2018-19.
Jurgen Klopp’s side won the EPL title in the 2019-20 season.
